Availability Management
Availability Management is the practice of identifying, evaluating, implementing, and
maintaining appropriate levels of IT service availability. The primary elements used in defining
availability include:
| Serviceability | Where a service is provided by a 3rd party organization, this is the expected availability of a component. |
| Reliability | The time for which a component can be expected to perform under specific conditions without failure. |
| Recoverability | The time it should take to restore a component back to its operational state after a failure. |
| Maintainability | The ease with which a component can be maintained, which can be both remedial or preventative. |
| Resilience | The ability to withstand failure. |
The purpose of Mainland's Availability Management services is to provide enhanced availability,
integrity, and accessibility to valuable corporate data.
Considering all of the factors involved in producing a failsafe, highly available system or service
can be a complicated task. Mainland Information Systems’ business is to assist organizations in
realizing their IT service availability goals.
